**Fundraise with tea4support.com — Ideal for Cash Strapped Schools**

December 25, 2012

Fundraising  in the New Year can be easy with  Tea4Support.com

Working with organizations, in particular school,  Whisk and Spoon  was surprised how much schools counted on the PTA to support essential programs for its students—it’s  intimidating by the amount of money  needed for each class.   This year, we’ve created new teas for an exciting new fundraiser – Tea4support.  Working with tea4support will help your organization avoid  the  dreaded Fundraising Fatigue.

Tea4Support can offer something more compelling and meaningful to your organization’s community!

Offering something more interesting and creative—something that parents would buy eagerly, not just out of a sense of duty, and that their friends and family would be thrilled to receive as gifts? It should be useful, easy, personalized to reflect the unique personality of each supporter—and definitely delicious, so you’ll want more!

Tea4support is a creative, community-based alternative to the usual school fundraiser.   Teas are for the  conscious consumer,  products that advance the values parents strive to instill in their children.  The tea4support selection of teas are healthy, good for you, and taste delicious.  They support local communities while creating jobs in Pennsylvania!

Tea4support fundraising can provide the same kind of opportunity for the parents who choose to use this company.  By banding together to support education programs beyond our own schools, communities can help even more kids at a time when budget cuts and deficits make this kind of assistance more important than ever in todays’s economy.

For this reason, Tea4support Fundraising applies part of its proceeds (beyond the money you raise for your own fundraiser) to help less fortunate U.S. communities. Right now and the near future Tea4support will be supporting  SANDY relief projects

With tea4support.com up and running, nothing gives our company,  Whisk and Spoon,   greater pleasure than helping cash-strapped schools  provide a rich education without compromises for every student.  We  hope you’ll join Tea4Support  and make every fundraiser unique and memorable for your students, your family and friends, and your entire school community.Fundraising with Tea4support.com

Support with Tea: Bike and Build – Across America

April 2, 2012

March roared in giving us 70 degree weather, great iced tea drinking weather, shorts and good biking conditions. Now that the temperatures are back in the 50’s – we are back to good hot tea drinking weather…

Meet Erica Rosset, our new sponsor rider with Tea for Support: Bike & Build.     Recently, Erica helped us out big time by creating & fixing some illustrations we needed for our sales team, managed by Leslie Bushby of Hospitality Reps Inc.

What made this work so so unique was that Erica wanted her payment in the form of a donation!

Erica and I got to thinking about how we could create a new revenue stream for her fundraising that would avoid the dreaded ‘fundraiser fatigue’.   Here is the link to Support with Tea: Bike and Build.   For an extra pledge of $15.00, you’ll enjoy delicious tea, help raise funds AND get Erica in condition for the long journey ahead this summer.

If you would like updates on the life altering journey – please use our contact sheet  and put Bike in the subject line.  We’ll let you know how to follow Erica.

Bike & Build, Inc., which is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization committed to fighting the affordable housing crisis in the U.S. through cross-country bike trips. Each summer, young adults bike from the Atlantic to the Pacific along eight different routes. Along the way, these groups stop at several different build sites and volunteer with affordable housing organizations like Habitat for Humanity and Rebuilding Together.

Erica  taking the Northern Route with a team of 33, starting in Portsmouth, New Hampshire and ending with a swing up to Vancouver, B.C. to help build houses all along the Northern states of the U.S.

It’s Tea Teenie Time! Martinis to escape the heat!

July 24, 2011

It’s so hot and every one is just too grumpy!  Here’s our Grasshopper Green Tea Teenie Recipe.   For the WOW factor – just add some organic MATCHA, it kicks up the green color naturally!

The key is using excellent grades of  Sencha & Matcha Teas

Good quality organic Sencha has both a  lemoney, fresh as well as a  brothy flavor.  Little Green World’s Organic Matcha gives another depth and  level of flavor.  Both teas are frothy and delicious when combined  with alcohol.  Your  Tea Martini will have  striking green presentation without any artificial anything.

Shochu is the perfect compliment

Shochu is a popular Japanese liquor. It has a flavor similiar to a fine Vodka, but it is a bit smoother and sweeter with not as much of a alcohol “bite.” This is the perfect compliment to the fresh, lemony flavor of Sencha.

What you will need

  • 4 oz brewed and cooled organic Sencha tea (For purchase go to  littlegreenworld.com)
  • 1/2 teaspoon of Matcha – great taste while adding bright green color to the drink base
  • 2 oz Shochu (or organic RAIN Vodka)
  • ½ oz agave or some local honey
  • Ice
  • Cocktail Shaker (or a glass with a lid)
  • Martini glass

Make that drink!Tea Teenie Time

  • Pack the cocktail shaker with ice
  • Add the Schochu, Sencha, Matcha and sweetner
  • Shake until it becomes frothy
  • Serve in a Martini Glass

Respite from the heat!

To beat the heat and the  dog days of summer chill with our special cocktail.  . When you combine the smooth vodka with the rich, lemony Teas you get a cocktail that is truly magnificent. And to top it off, it looks so good that your friends will line up to drink them!  They may be green with envy…

Not a dry eye in the house on Saturday Nite  January 15,2011

Liz and Jay Scott put on another fantastic event for Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) which was the continued vision  of the founder and creator, Alexandra “Alex” Scott.  Reading heartfelt letters from families who benefit from funds raised by ALSF, moved every one attending the silent auction .    With over 100 volunteers, and participation from major corporations this evening  fundraiser does it right for a great start to the New Year and the  vision “a cure for all children with cancer”

alex_medium

The most important message was that it all started with a lemonade stand and a vision.  That little stand and little girl’s vision  turned into over $1,000,000.  This organization continues today through her parents, friends, volunteers, community involvement and a bunch of little kids raising a lot of awareness.  Alex would have been 15 on January 18, 2011.

My favorite drink to the start of  the holiday Season

Chai Tea with a bit of MOXI

Why not try and make chai from scratch? You can vary the following according to taste. I love the stuff as an alternative. When I was in  India almost every street corner has a “chai” stall.   AEG 15CT BLK WS7

My Whisk and SPOON Recipe

  • 1/3 water
  • 2/3 milk (soy and rice work great too)
  • 1 Whisk and Spoon Pyramid tea bag  for each cup measured
  • freshly chopped ginger & a few cardamom pods
  • a little piece clove (optional)
  • organic sugar (organic palm or agave are our fav’s) to make it sweet to your taste

Throw it all into a saucepan cold EXCEPT TEA BAGS and bring slowly to a boil. When boiling turn off  the heat.  Swirl it around until it reaches the desired strength and the spices provide a kick. Strain it into small glasses.

Alcohol optional
